Troubled, affluent teenager Mark Deloach (Jonathan Tucker) winds up in the Marine Corps with a tough-as-nails drill sergeant (Val Kilmer). During a break from duty, Mark meets and begins to fall for a wild actress and singer named Dori Lawrence (Rachael Leigh Cook). Although Dori's latest exploits have landed her in a halfway house, the two develop a unique romance that saves them from their solitude.
