This twisty-turny movie has an amazing scene of Kirsten Dunst dancing on a bed braless in a tank top and tiny panties. Speaking of panties, Kate Winslet keeps flashing hers to Jim Carrey and even strips down to her bra at one point. Sexy moments in a great movie.

This HBO miniseries version of the novel promises some things the Joan Crawford movie did not -- titties! Kate Winslet flashes some nudity, but it's Evan Rachel Wood who shines, with her first full-frontal nudity.

Geoffrey Rush shines as history's most infamous and literate libertine--the Marquis de Sade--in director Philip Kaufman's adaptation of the Doug Wright play. Set in 19th-century France's infamous Charenton insane asylum, the "speculative drama" chronicles the battle of wills between the sly de Sade, the director/priest trying to reason with him (Joaquin Phoenix), and the conservative doctor (Michael Caine) sent by Napoleon to stop the Marquis' scandalous writings. Kate Winslet co-stars as a laundress who becomes de Sade's confidante and object of desire.


Surprisingly bland, considering the subject matter, not nearly as racy as it could have been. It had its trappy moments and Geoffrey Rush was good, but really it's nothing more than a historical drama, so unless you're into that sort of thing it's probably not for you.

This 2001 biopic tells the true story of novelist Iris Murdoch, her lifelong romance with her husband, and the trials of their later life once Iris gets Alzheimer's disease.

The story is told through a series of flashbacks, with Kate Winslet playing the younger Iris. She did a great job, and of course, got naked in the process. Has Kate ever NOT gotten naked in a movie? My idea of a real actress.  :-)

An interesting but sad story with some definite insights into a very insidious disease.
