CI is the third spin-off of the popular Law & Order franchise and for its first four years the series featured Detectives Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Eames (Katheryn Erbe), but after the 2004 creator brought back Chris Noth's Det. Since then, each week the series switches off between Goren and Eames and Logan and his female partner, who in L&O fashion has been switched several times. His current partner is portrayed by redheaded Alicia Witt, best known as Cybil Shepherd's daughter on the actress's epinomious sitcom from the 90's. In 2007, CI moved to the USA cable network when NBC did not initially pick it up for another season. USA's episodes later aired on NBC.
