Having already cultivated an offbeat reputation among high society in 1930s London, Laura Henderson (Judi Dench) embarks on her newest adventure: the transformation of an old movie theater into the Windmill, a space that will host, of all things, a nude musical revue. Members of her social circle don't quite know what to make of Mrs. Henderson's controversial enterprise, a shocking venture that has everyone up in arms.
Overall, this really was an excellent movie. Dench turns in a remarkable performance as Mrs. Henderson, a wealthy aristocrat who has nothing in common with the actors and stage manager she employs. Bob Hoskins was something of a surprise for me since the last thing I've seen him in was Who Killed Roger Rabbit? But as the controlling stage manager, Hoskins shines... even with his British accent. The stage performances are quite interesting in their way, as the nudes are motionless. So essentially what you have are a series of tableaus introduced by a brief song. Based on a true story, Mrs. Henderson Presents is a very good choice... put it in your queue today!! Nude Celeb's Bio
