Nude Celebs: Rachael Leigh Cook - A strange ride of a movie that’s obsessed with tying up loose ends to the point of nearly impossible convenience, 11:14 is a nifty cinematic parlor-trick, chock full of rather pleasing narrative twists and turns that logically coalesce by the roll of the credits. There are some nice performances, most notably by Henry Thomas, Hilary Swank, Shawn Hatosy and the ever-growing-up and out-to-prove-it Rachel Leigh Cook, but mostly a crackerjack screenplay and deliberate direction make this one a winner.
The story centers on a series of what at first seem unconnected events. As the movie progress, however, it becomes clear there’s karmic hand in how everything is playing out. If you liked the unpredictable, nonlinear storytelling style of a movie like Pulp Fiction or you’re a fan of darkly comic cinema, then this would be an excellent match for you. A rather pleasing find.
