Nude Celebs: Shannon Barksdale - For those half-dozen hardcore Evilmaker fans out there who just couldn’t get enough of the movie’s star Stephanie Beaton, or its no-budget, shot-on-video brand of horror, well, they can’t exactly rejoice. Beaton doesn’t return in this 2003 sequel, although she does show up in sepia-tinted flashbacks sequences. Instead, Abomination: Evilmaker 2 gives us Kylene Weatherell, who isn’t as quick to tear off her shirt as the previous movie’s protagonist. The result is a slow, awkwardly shot and edited cheap-o movie with a few fun moments (the girl who explodes into oatmeal was a nice touch) and nly once decent flash of skin provided by Shannon Barksdale.
It’s safe to say that fans of the original Evilmaker will miss much of the goods that made the first one worth viewing (namely, Stephanie Beaton’s d-cups.) But ultra-low-budget aficionados might enjoy the grassroots spirit of this production and the rather lengthy special features documentary accompanying the feature. If the story of a psychic girl searching for her lost sister in a secluded house with a history of mysterious disappearances doesn’t interest you, perhaps the story behind the making of said movie might?
