PURCHASE THE DVD: Dot.Kill (2005)

There has been a plethora of killer web-site movies in the last couple of years, most of them dreadful, but this 2005 entry stands out because it's a pretty good thriller. In addition, I'm an Armand Assante fan, and he was good as the beleaguered detective in this one.

A detective almost ready to retire, and with a terminal illness that he's trying to hide from everyone, gets saddled with a serial killer case where the killer displays the murders on a web site. Even worse, the killer seems to be tracking the cop's every move, and displays THAT on the web site as well.

The boss cops bring in a team of computer experts, but the detective scorns their efforts, insisting that good old-fashioned police work is what will solve the case. He may be right, as the experts are continually stymied.

Not a great movie, maybe, but exciting and fun to watch. I recommend it.
