PURCHASE THE DVD: Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (1999)

This 1999 made-for-TV flick was produced by the same people who brought you 'Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World', 'Adventure, Inc' and the rest of the first-run syndication shows that made up the Action Pack in the late 1990's. Thus everything about out it is completely laugable. The acting, the writing, the budget. A modern day Dr. Jeckyll (Adam Baldwin) travels to Hong Kong on his honeymoon and runs afoul of the local mob. After his wife (Karen Cliche) is killed he is rescued by a local who teaches him how to use traditional Asian medicine to get his revenge. It was obviously shot as a pilot for a series and I guess the Hong Kong setting was to appeal to the international market, which is also probably why some nude scenes were inserted. Baldwin is usually a good actor, but he's got nothing to work with here as everything around him is crap. The most mystifying thing is why Francis Ford Coppola's name is attached to this garbage.
