1991's Operation Desert Storm is seen through the eyes of a young U.S. Marine sniper (Jake Gyllenhaal) as he and his fellow "jarheads" wait tensely in the sweltering Arabian wastes, hoping for a ground attack that will, at least, relieve their tension.
