PURCHASE THE DVD: Love Bites (2001)
A Parisian slouch who spends his evenings nightclubbing and is looking for something more exciting in life gets what he asked for when he is asked by a shady nightclub owner to track down a Goth couple who are suspected to be vampires. What follows is a sometimes darkly funny and sexy thriller that’s highlighted by the presence of the seductive Asia Argento as the female “vampire” who lures our unwitting protagonist into a night he will never likely forget.
Beautifully shot and buoyed by a smart sense of humor, in it’s final act the movie seems unsure of its course and falters a bit. Still, for those who enjoy foreign cinema and something off the beaten path, Love Bites should sate your appetite well enough.
