PURCHASE THE DVD: magnum p.i. (1980)

This popular TV series ran from 1980 to 1988 and featured Tom Selleck as Thomas Magnum, a retired Naval Intelligence officer and Vietnam Vet who lived in Hawaii on the estate of weathly, but never seen novelist Robin Masters. The series was mostly light and fun, like a lot of the detective shows of the time, however it could get surprisingly heavy when dealing with Magnum's experiences in Vietnam. In the later years of the series it was implied that Magnum's nemesis, Higgins, was really Robin Masters, but events in the first season would make this impossible.
