Nude Celebs: Kelly S. Hurley - A definite recurring theme in modern, low-budget horror is the “hook” of the first ten minutes. Usually it involves some T&A, eerie “Who’s out there?” moments, perhaps a jump scare or two, and then, some gruesome end for our preliminary protagonists. In The Slaughterhouse Massacre, a cheap b-movie from Texas, we get the T&A, the eeriness and the expected evisceration, and while not great, it’s a decent set-up. But like almost every other movie made in this genre of late, the set-up proves to be the best part.
The story follows a group of college-age hum-drum types who decide to investigate a legend about a slaughterhouse where a brutal murderer named Marty Sickle was supposedly hung by a group of vigilantes. If you go to the slaughterhouse, sit near the spot where Sickle was hung and say his name three times, he’ll appear. As expected, the bland kids meet up with the creepy freakazoid denizen of the meat-house and end up as so much American Chop Suey.
Perhaps what’s most memorable about this flick is the way the moviemakers manage to de-clothe the lead female character (played by looker Shaila Vaidya) near the end of the picture. First, her shirt is ripped by a knife. Next she takes it off. Then, mysteriously, she can’t wiggle her way through a hole in a wall without her skirt coming off. Hilarious, if your of good humor and not expecting the movie to actually be scary..
