Nude Celebs: Kate Winslet - As an undersea expedition explores the remains of the RMS Titanic, a 100-year-old survivor (Gloria Stuart) of the doomed ship relates her account of the 1912 voyage, when, as a young socialite (Kate Winslet), she had a life-changing romance with a handsome steerage passenger (Leonardo DiCaprio). Their tragic love affair is set amid spectacular scenes of the liner's collision with an iceberg and sinking.
The drama is overbaked and the dialogue ridiculous. Just about the only thing Billy Zane doesn't do as the villian is twist his mustache and tie Winslet to railroad tracks. Still, the scenes of the ship going down are impressive, almost worth sitting through the rest of the film. 194 min.
