PURCHASE THE DVD: Without A Trace (2002)

This Jerry Bruckheimer produced series follows his others (CSI, Cold Case) in both style and substance and focuses on a FBI team based out of New York which tracks down missing persons. What makes this series stand out from the others though is a stellar cast. Some could have suggested that Anthony LaPaglia was slumming by taking the role of Agent Jack Malone, but he makes this show everything it is. Other strong performances come from Eric Close and Poppy Montgomery. The oddest thing about this show is that only two of the cast, Close and Enrique Murciano, are actually Americans, and my only criticism is that the actors' accents slip. Marianne Jean-Baptiste, an otherwise fine actress, barely conceals her natural Cockney accent under a horrid Brooklyn one. If you're a fan of crime drama, this show is one for you.
