Nude Celebs: Aleksandra Kaniak - A Showtime late-night cable series produced by Playboy, this late 1990's bit of softcore is very, very soft. Not just the nudity, but the lighting and even the tone of the vast majority of the episodes is just "soft." That doesn't mean it's bad, however, as the series aims to tickle the mind as well as other parts. In many ways it feels like a longer, more fleshed-out version of another Bunny Mag produced series, Inside Out. Here the stories don't play out in nearly as one-note fashion, but they do tend to skew a bit on the more arty side.
City of Men is one of the most art-house episodes of the entire series run. Set in a kind of uber-industrialist militaristic world - think the erotic underside of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow - Aleksandra Kaniak and first-time actress Arly Jover (later best-known for her turn in Blade) flirt with forbidden desires while using a vintage movie camera. There's a lot of ruminative narration about the nature of love and lust, but certain scenes do crank up some heat and both Kaniak and the very young Jover look positively lovely.
