Nude Celebs: Laila Odom - Essentially an urban Sex and the City but with a lot more "street" than "city," Zane's Sex Chronicles is a curio of late-night cable entertainment. The leads can, for the most part, deliver their lines convincingly. The production value - though a bit too gauzy - is quite good. And the entire vibe of each episode is sexy, but not exploitative. What results is a show with actual characters moving through their (albeit sexy) lives, all woven together by friendship and the writings of a sex-columnist named "Zane" who just happens to be one of the ladies in this group of gals. The one big knock on the show is that the leads are so attractive that their scant nude scenes become frustrating for regular viewers that want the goods, a problem the producers seem to laughably address by bringing Zane's columns to the screen with softcore/hardcore talent that isn't bashful about dropping their kit and riding off into the sunset. The quick bits of harder softcore make the show feel a bit unsure of what direction it wants to go in, but overall this is a decent show for couples that aren't interested in porn, but that might want to watch something a little saucy.
For softcore and celebrity nudity fans, the episode entitled Nymph is most likely a homerun despite it being one of the weaker storyline entries of the series. Why? One reason, really: Christina DeRosa's go-for-broke love scene during which she (convincingly) reaches the heights of ecstasy at least twice. Everything else here is pretty much icing as Laila Odom has a rooftop dalliance after her character confesses her kinky past to her current lover and
Patrice Fisher's Patience character has an imagined photoshoot with a bo-hunk model. Of course, it's in the fantasy scenes that skin-searchers find their greatest reward, and here Zane spins a story about an insatiable nymph with a back-seat fetish that gives a few minutes of legitimate work to hardcore vet Naomi Banxx (here credited as Nyomi Banks.)
