This 2004 horror/thriller actually had me for a while. Then they insisted on including the last twenty minutes, which ruined it for me.
Young Abbey is a personal secretary/cook/homemaker for elderly Mrs. Baker. They are quite close, although the old lady is basically a bitch.
When Mrs. Baker dies, she leaves her house and everything else to Abbey, disinheriting her grown daughter, who's none too pleased. Totally shocked at the inheritance, Abbey assures the daughter she wants nothing, and will sign everything over to her. The daughter then asks Abbey to box up everything in the house for disposal, which Abbey reluctantly agrees to do.
As Abbey goes through all the old pictures and memorabilia, strange feels envelope her.
Soon, she has moved into the house and started dressing like a young Mrs. Baker, even wearing her clothes and adopting the hair style she saw Mrs. Baker wear in an old 30's photo. Even though she struggles to avoid it, she is slowly becoming Mrs. Baker in her youth.
As I say, the first hour or so was fairly well done if somewhat predictable, spooky and interesting. They lost it at the end, and that's too bad.
