An insane blend of science fiction and kitch, this kooky bit of camp from classic erotica director Roger Vadim stars Jane Fonda as the gorgous title character sent on a mission to stop scientist Duran-Duran from his plans to disrupt intergalactic peace. During her mission, Barbarella never finds herself in a situation where it isn't possible to lose at least part of her already minimal dressing, and viewers are all the better served by this fact.
Featuring one of the most memorable, iconic open credits sequences in cinematic history, Barbarella's Zero-G strip show is as impressive as it is titillating. Jane Fonda truly was a vision at the time of the movie's production, seating her in the canon of classic cinematic beauties.
